North Harrow churches will be given a series of talks during Lent by Alan Millard, a professor of Hebrew and Ancient Semetic Languages.

During the five talks, held every Tuesday in March at 8pm, the Harrow-based lecturer will be discussing whether the Bible is a reliable record.

The series kicks off at St John Fisher, Imperial Close, Harrow, on March 3 and will discuss misleading myths such as the Bible code and The Da Vinci Code.

On March 10 Prof Millard will speak about archaeology and the Bible at Rayners Lane Baptist Church on Imperial Drive, South Harrow.

He will visit St Alban's Church, The Ridgeway, North Harrow, on March 17, discussing archaeology and ancient Israel looking at whether Moses and Abraham were real people.

The next talk on March 24 will be at St George's Church, Pinner View, Harrow, will investigate the authors writings revealing how ancient books were made.

The penultimate talk from Prof Millard, from the University of Liverpool, will debate the relevance of the Bible today at Elmfield Church, Imperial Drive, Harrow.

Each talk will be followed by light refreshments and the opportunity for a general discussion.

Suggested donations are £2.50 each talk and students are free.
