Youngsters act out 'Julius Caesar' with modern twist at Harrow Arts Centre
A CAST of teenagers will bring to life a contemporary version of Shakespeare play 'Julius Caesar' on Sunday, February 13.
Actors from the Bearfoot School of Performing Arts, all aged between 13 and 19, aim to make the production more accessible to young people with a modern setting, language and themes.
The story explores issues around relationships, violence and the struggle and corruption of power in a modern context.
Sally Worner, director of Bearfoot, said: "By making Julius Caesar relevant to the modern day we are able to tackle current youth issues such as knife crime, gangs and the desire to be the best."
"We're using language that young people can relate to, in settings they are familiar with.
"It's a great way to expose them to, and help them appreciate, the work of one of our great British playwrights as well as explore the issues that matter to them."
