St Mary-the-Virgin Church in St Leonard's Avenue,. Kenton, has an open day on Saturday, September 24, from 10am to 6pm featuring organ demonstrations, tours of the church, cream tea and face painting.
The following day, the Bishop of London, Richard Chartres, will be taking parish mass at 10.30am as part of a patronal festival during the church's 75th anniversary year.

GOLFERS helped raise almost £14,000 for a Harrow charity that relies entirely on donations.
The Harrow Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Watford Road, Harrow, which provides therapies, activities and care for patients with the debilitating disease, hosted its charity golf day at Moor Park Golf Club in Moor Park on August 24.

Permission to convert a hardware store called Splendour into a food outlet selling southern Indian cuisine between 11am and 11pm has been submitted to Harrow Council.
The applicants seek a change of use from shop (class A1) to restaurant (class A3 and A5) for 265 Station Road and to install an extractor flue at the property's rear.

Brent Teachers' Association has called, at the request of the parents' action group, a public meeting to discuss whether Kingsbury High School should become an academy.
It is being held on Tuesday, September 13, at 7pm in the Father O'Callaghan Centre in Hay Lane and a parent, a staff member and union representatives from ATL, NUT and NASUWT will be speaking.
