June 2012 Archives

VOLUNTARY organisations are supporting the hard work of carers as part of a week of events.

National Carers Week is being championed by Harrow Council with a series of lunches, talk and teas.

The newly reformed Friends of West Harrow Park is asking locals what the priorities should be for improving West Harrow Recreation Ground in Wilson Gardens and to demonstrate the strength of support for future funding applications.
There are questionnaires in nearby shops and the park and online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/5YHRGCJ and the group's first event will be a Big Picnic in the park between 12.30pm and 3pm on Sunday, June 3, for The Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

A free belated celebration of The Queen's Diamond Jubilee has been arranged by the charitable Islamic and Cultural Society of Harrow at their Meena Bazaar at the North Harrow Assembly Halls in Station Road on Saturday June 16 between 11am and 5pm.
Visitors can enjoy Indian and Pakistani clothes and toys, face painting, and stalls, while the Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Nizam Ismail, will cut a cake between 1pm and 2pm.
