A BUYER accused of defrauding more than £850,000 from his employer is to stand trial next year.

Hitesh Laloobhai, 28, of Sunnymead Road, Kingsbury, denied three counts of fraud by abuse of position when he appeared at Harrow Crown Court on Monday.

He is accused of "dishonestly abusing his position" as a buyer for Adlink, a plumbing supplies and reconditioning firm based in Alperton Lane, Wembley, in order to gain £434,492.97 while at STC Plumbing and Heating in Pinner Road, Ruislip, between January 1 2011 and September 1 2011.

The second count is similar but involves an electrical heating firm called SPD based in Springfield Road, Hayes, and the amount is lower at £72,048.98.

The third involves a company called APP Wholesale, a plumbing parts distributor in Romford, Essex, and the sum involved is £360,348.72.

Laloobhai was granted conditional bail until his trial, which starts at the crown court on April 15 2013 and is expected to last five days.
